We have a county
and a city in Iowa named Osceola. Although most of the counties or
towns with Indian names in Iowa were named for people who resided in
Iowa, Osceola, or Billy Powell never did. He was a famous
Seminole, imprisoned under a flag of truce as part of the Florida war.
